Kristallnacht - Night of the Broken Glass
Kristallnacht was a deliberate, premeditated plan to "smash, loot, and burn" Jewish shops and places of worship. These attacks were orchestrated by Adolf Hitler's Minister of Propaganda, Josef Goebbels. Occurring in 1938, these Anti-Semitic attacks pre-dated the most active years of the concentration camps, but served as a harsh dose of the reality facing the Jewish people of what could be expected in the years that followed.
